Meet The Founder
Joseph Collins, CPA
Founder and President

Collins CPA Group, PLLC (formerly known as Your NFP Controller) was founded by Joseph Collins, a Certified Public Accountant with a Masters in Accountancy and 20 years of experience in auditing, tax, and senior executive leadership roles.
​
Joe has taught accounting, financial management, economics, and tax courses at the University level. He has been recognized for his financial management expertise with the United Way of South Hampton Roads through an invitation to join the United Way Worldwide Financial Issues Committee (comprised of only 12-24 members selected from a network of about 1,200 United Ways).
​
In addition, Joe is a board member for Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster and served as Treasurer for a three-year term. He is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Society of Human Resource Management.
Joe is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in a forward deployed role including Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is also an active volunteer coach with the Chesapeake Soccer Club, and he lives in Chesapeake with his wife and two children. Joe is an avid soccer fan and car enthusiast. ​​
